The most iconic event in Bhutan is the unfurling of the grand scroll, the which is embroided with great detailing to perfection and presented to the crowd during the festival of Tsechu. The unfurling ceremony happens in dawn and is followed by a series of masked dances, recitals of old hymns and folklore, a performance by monks and gathering of thousands in their finest traditional attire. It is said that witnessing the masked dances brings you good luck.

Tiger Hill

Batasia Loop

It is another beautiful viewpoint and a war memorial that was built in memory of the brave martyrs that lost their life. The amazing thing about this viewpoint is the presence of spiral narrow gauge and railway track that allows the Toy train to climb this uphill, take a round above and continue with its route ahead.

Darjeeling Ropeway

Darjeeling ropeway is the best offering that Darjeeling can give to you and it is magical beyond words. Other hillstations also provide wonderful Ropeway rides but the one here stands out due to its age old heritage and the beautiful route that it follows. Rock Garden

It is a multi terraced garden which is more beautiful due to the presence of the Chunnu waterfalls. The garden offers beautiful views of the hill stream that flows over the rocks along the slope. It is a downhill garden which is stepped and situated at different levels.

Happy Valley

This is one of the famous tea estates in Darjeeling that was established by British planters in 1854 and located only 3kms away from the lower town. Due to its proximity, a visit to this tea estate is quite common in the local package tours offered by tour operators or taxi drivers. Many tea bushes here are over 100 years old and it's a treat to the eyes to watch the vast expanses of lush tea gardens on the slopes of the hills.

Japanese Temple

About 10 minutes by car, you will reach a wonderful area that is symbolic of peace and tranquility. Located in the Jalapahar hill, the Japanese Temple is built in traditional Japanese style where you can join the prayers and feel the spiritual peace amongst humming and chants.
